I was empty nesting, I knew I needed to find something to do, but really didn’t even know where to start. I was at the Sertoma Chili Cookoff when it occurred to me that it might be kind of fun to be part of an event like that. I joined for the social aspect. Once I became a Sertoman, I discovered how much we really do for the community and in particular the kids. It can be hard work, but it’s very rewarding. Our club is so strong because we have such a diverse group of women. Each of us to do what we can, when we can. It’s definitely a great opportunity to contribute to your community.
